Welcome to RaggleRock Ragdoll cats and kittens. Since I can
remember, small animals have always been a part of our lives. I have
been fortunate not only to have dealt with typical pets such as dogs
and cats but also ferrets, birds, raccoons, squirrels and yes, even a
monkey (my very first pet ever)!!
OUR CATTERY SET UP
We are a "NO CAGE" facility, this means none of our cats are
confined for extended lengths of time.
Our boys,
each have a
space of their own
mainly
due to the fact that they can and do spray. Of course, I would also like to ensure who the
father is of a particular litter of kittens. However, we
do have Stud Pants (fancy diaper-like pants) that we put on our males
so that they can enjoy freedom beyond their area, and visit with the
females and our family.
Our ladies enjoy the free roam of the house but they too have a room
just for them. Whether they are in heat or not, we have learned to
live with their loud calling, piercing cries, extensive rolling.
When a lady is pregnant she still has free roam until about two weeks
prior to delivery, at that time she is confined to our bedroom for
most of the day (many of our experienced girls will head for the
bedroom without any coaxing). This is to ensure that the delivery of
all baby Ragdoll kittens happens in our room and hopefully in one of the
nesting boxes already well prepared and waiting for the new bundle of joy to
arrive!
At approximately three weeks of age, kittens start to toddle around
quite a bit. They want to explore more and think about lapping their
first drink of water and possibly attempting to eat some dry kibble.
So for their safety it is time to move from under our feet in the
bedroom to the room right across the hallway. This bedroom is called
the Nursery. Everything in here is just their size; blankets, little
rattling balls, baby sized cat trees, scratching post, kitten size
litter box and so forth. Now they can safely be raised here the next
seven weeks or so.
OUR BLOODLINES
Our
Ragdoll pedigree lines are from throughout the USA, the UK and Europe.
All pedigrees contain Champions, many have Grand Champions, Triple Grand,
Quadruple Grand and Supreme Grand Champions too! Very distinguished
cattery names can be found in our lines. Some examples are Raggedy
Ann, Pandapaws, Petil-lu, Blossom Time, Patriarca, Mourningdove,
Hemlock Trails, Tuftytoes, CPRags, Ragnarok and Ragmeister. Our
Jewels, is great-great grand-daughter of the famous Dollhouse
Barbie, the highest scoring Ragdoll kitten EVER in
T.I.C.A while Sir Ulrich is the great-grand-son of Triple Grand
Champion & International Champion CPRags Key to Success and Koda
is his son. We are very proud of all our Ragdoll cats.
REGISTRATIONS & MEMBERSHIPS

RaggleRock is
registered with CCA (Canadian Cat Association) and CFA, also in TICA, as RaglRocks.
We are proud members of RI, RFW and RFCI. All our Ragdoll kittens are sold with
registration papers and a copy of their pedigree.
OUR BREEDING GOALS
Health is of the utmost importance here at RaggleRock and
therefore our first priority. Thanks to the Internet, we are able
through daily communications worldwide with other Seasoned Ragdoll
Breeders to discuss and support one another on all aspects of having a
successful breeding program. We also maintain a close working
relationship with a group of veterinarians in our area. We pride
ourselves on being knowledgeable in all aspects of our Ragdolls,
predictions of patterns/colors, their genetics, nutrition, health
issues and much more. Bettering our breeding program depends on us
staying well informed.
Our next priority is TEMPERAMENT, after all this is what the
Ragdoll is widely known for. A Ragdoll cat is a loving, docile, floppy
and easy to handle cat. The Ragdoll loves its human companions and
other pet friends. We are convinced that temperament is both nature
and nurture...therefore it is equally important to us to start with
parents of specific genetic make up that will provide us with loving
kittens as it is for us to continue with the necessary socialization
to ensure a well rounded, sweet kitten develops. In our home, visitors
are greeted by our fur babies, who will then follow you from room to
room seeking your love and craving your attention. The Ragdoll is not
necessarily a lap cat (due to its size) but certainly enjoys sitting
right next to you wherever that may be!! RaggleRock takes the
responsibility of raising healthy and well socialized kittens very
seriously.
Other aspects of our breeding program include striving towards
the recognized Ragdoll breed standard of the associations. Always
attempting to improve our program to that which will benefit the breed
as a whole. Moving towards cleaner markings, better eye color, size,
coat texture and overall improvement from one generation to the next.
Selecting our future generation of breeders with an unbiased eye is
very difficult indeed. We show our Ragdolls regularly at cat shows to
ensure our program is on the right track. While we truly enjoy showing
our Ragdoll cats, we also find this an opportune time to educate the
public about our wonderful breed and meet with our fellow breeders.
