ll Ragdolls colors come in a variety of patterns. Each pattern adds to the uniqueness of the individual cat or kitten. Since Ragdolls are slow to mature, full coat color is not achieved until around two years of age, darkening over time. There are five recognized patterns in the Ragdoll breed. These patterns are: Colorpoint, Mitted, BiColor, Lynx Point and Tortie Point.

Seal Color Point olorpoints have a colored mask, ears, feet, nose, paw pads and tail. The colorpoint Ragdoll has no white in its point pattern.

otice from this picture the solid coloring in the face and legs of this beautiful specimen of a cat and its gorgeous full ruff and slightly warmer body coloring.

itted Ragdolls have a colored mask and ears but their legs have white mittens on the front feet and white boots on the back legs. This means the mittens are a smaller area of white, while the boots go further up the back legs.

he mitted pattern can be any of the colors mentioned on our color page and may have the Lynx Point or Tortie Point pattern added. The chin and ruff of a mitted Ragdoll are also white, as well as its stomach.

Seal Tortie Point Mitted
Blue Point Bicolor he Bicolor pattern in the Ragdoll is marked by a noticeable white inverted "V" in their mask. They have point colored ears and tail with white legs, feet, ruff and stomach. The nose and paw pads of a bi-color are pink.

otice the bi-color pattern (along with the VANs) is the only pattern that you may show in the Cat Fancier's Association (CFA) cat shows, although the other patterns may be registered.

ynx point pattern overlays any one of the above patterns in the Ragdoll. This pattern shows up as tabby markings on the face in what looks like the letter "W" on its forehead.

ee the various pictures to the right of how the lynx point pattern may manifest itself in your kitten or cat.

his pattern creates a truly unique look in Ragdolls, in my opinion almost a "wild" look in such a gentle creature.

he Tortie point pattern also overlays any of the above patterns. Generally speaking a tortie cat will have Red or Cream mixed with one of the other colors, Seal, Blue, Chocolate or Lilac.

een on the left are several examples of what the Tortie pattern looks like. *Note: A torbie, is a tortie with lynx pattern.

lthough what I will mention next is NOT a pattern, nor is it a particular color, many people ask questions about Blazes. A blaze on a Ragdoll is found on the cats face, usually on the forehead but sometimes also on the nose. Blazes can be small or large, however they should be symmetrical.

n the right is a picture of two Ragdolls with different looking blazes.
